After passing Petersburg, the boat entered Frederick Sound, a much wider waterway and then turned north into Stephans Passage heading to Juneau.
The light house on Five Finger Island, at the southern end of
Stephans Passage, just near Frederick Sound.
Our first glacier. OK, it's some distance away, but beggars
can't be choosers! This is the Sumdum Glacier (I think it's
on the left of the humped island on the left).
A rain shower in the sun. This is located at the southern
end of the Gastineau Channel, the waterway on which Juneau is
located. The spit of land on the right is the southern end
of Douglas Island, with Stephans Passage continuing through
the rain shower, while we branched off into the Gastineau
Channel for Juneau.
Ah, Juneau in the distance! It's slightly left of centre,
just above the water. The snowy peak on the right is Mt. Roberts,
while the peak behind is Mt. Juneau.
