Showing the main altar, and the crypt of St. Eulalia of Merida, a 3rd
century Spanish martyr. Eulalia is the form of a Greek name meaning
"well spoken", from "eu" (good) and "lalein" (speech).
Looking towards the altar from near the front door. The altar
is hidden by the section holding the choir.
This building is not normally open for public inspection, but this is the 150th anniversary year of Gaudi's birth, and this building is open for public tours, as can be seen from the queue of people waiting to enter.
However, Gaudi's most significant contribution is El Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia or the Expiatory Temple of the Holy Family. For that, turn to the next page!
