The weather forecast was for rain. The plan was to drive the
Ring of Kerry
when we reached Killarney.
Sunrise from the breakfast room at the Adare B & B.
Another view from the breakfast room, this time of the "Pay and Putt",
which is a small golf course affair. Not sure I have the correct name;
it doesn't sound quite right.
The view out my window. The land across the street is a private estate!
Trinitarian Monastery in Adare
After breakfast, we drove into Adare township (the B & B was on the
outer edge), and attended Mass at the Trinitarian Monastery.
Founded in 1230, this is the only monastery of the Trinitarian
order known in Ireland. It is now Holy Trinity Abbey, Adare's
Roman Catholic Church.
The main alter and isle.
The view of the church from the park across the street.
The Park
The town's main park is across the street from the Abbey.
One of the many creeks we saw in Ireland. They were all flowing
vigourously, but they had received a great deal of rain during
this time.
Some barberry bushes, showing a dash of colour in the park.
